*Acknowledgment of using the term "Chamorro" (rather than "CHamoru")
We recognize that for some, the term "Chamorro"––derived from the Spanish––is inaccurate, controversial, and racist. We also recognize that in CHamoru orthography, there is no letter "c" or double "r." We only use this term because it is typically used in standard demographic surveys. We encourage the community to take the survey and express your thoughts on this term, and apologize for any harm from its usage. Si Yu'os ma'åse' for contributing to the study.

The 2021 Guåhan Survey does not represent an act of CHamoru self-determination. The survey represents a snapshot of those who self-selected into the study during the time period July 2021-August 2021. Any findings from this study do not generalize to the preferences of the CHamoru people or how they envision CHamoru self-determination.
**The survey will close on August 15, 2021.

Want to collaborate?
Our goal is to build a research team across various academic institutions in Guåhan. We are especially interested in working with Chamorro faculty, undergraduates, and graduate students interested in Chamorro identity and community concerns. If you are interested, our research team welcomes the opportunity to speak to your classes, civic groups, and organizations.
